To think that I saw it on Park Street
Following in the footsteps of my last post about the Alameda Marketplace Film Showing on Friday. Another of my favorite Alameda Businesses (which I have no stake in) is having a party on the same night!
Alameda Bicycle will be celebrating 20 years of business and the end of construction on their revamped store on Friday and Saturday. Friday has a BBQ, music and a bike stunt show (at 5:30 and 7:30). Here are the full details.
Alameda Bicycle has an amazing program for families buying bikes for kids. Buy your kid’s bike (12” or 16”) from them and when your child outgrows it, which kids seem to do quite regularly, you can trade it in for a bigger bike and get credit for the original full cost of the bike. Seriously! You can trade up twice (until you buy the 20” bike of your dreams).
Huge props to Alameda Bicycle for their support of the Fruitvale Bike Station as well. They run this community asset with grants from regional transportation agencies (no small feat I can tell you). What’s so great? Free, in-door, valet bike parking at Fruitvale BART every day of the work week. No worries about theft. Have your tune up done while you’re at work. No stress about Parking filling up. A huge part of Alameda lives within a mile and a half (otherwise known as less than a 10-minute ride) of this BART station.
I could go on and on. But I won’t. Stop by and support the store, or just enjoy the fun.

To show our generous Alameda Bicycle is here is highlights of a donation they will be making to Alameda PTA Council:
1) 20-20-20 Event. For their 20th Anniversary, Alameda Bicycle is donating 20% of bicycle sale proceeds for 20 days, May 5 - 25, to Alameda PTAs. Clients simply need to let Alameda Bicycle staff know they support Alameda PTAs. All bicycles except toddler 12″ wheel & 16″ wheel bicycles apply. Lifetime tuneups & lifetime warranty policy also applies to all bicycles.
