Eat! Eat! You’re wasting away!
A quick Friday post before heading into a weekend of baseball, housecleaning and community meetings! Wahoo!
I checked out the city council meeting agenda for next Tuesday and was struck by the fact that the only item not on the consent calendar is the discussion about whether or not the planning board can discuss what they might discuss at a meeting or forum on Measure A.
One of the big arguments coming from the folks appealing this “decision” of the planning board is that it’s a waste of staff time and a waste of city money.
It’s ironic that an entire council meeting and all the time that goes into holding one is being spent answering ridiculous accusations made by people who should know better. At the very least, Councilmember deHaan and the Kerr/Bail/Sweeney crew could have waited until something had actually been proposed before appealing it.
If there is an archetypal example of a colossal waste of city resources, this dual appeal (Bail/Sweeney/Kerr & call for review (deHaan) is it.

any comment on the technical argument that the Planning Board is acting outside it’s purview as defined by the City Charter?
