Bad Case of Loving You

Absent all the sturm und drang of last spring’s Hospital Board Director appointment process, you’ll be excused for not knowing that at Tuesday night’s meeting, the latest vacancy was filled by Rob Bonta. (At least, that’s why I feel ok about not realizing it.)

As the overseers of all the glory that is our publicly assisted hospital. I thought people would like to know who’s looking out for their interests.

Bonta took a bit of an underserved beating last spring. Given much of his great volunteer work around town, including serving on the Economic Development Commission and the Social Service Human Relations Board.

I wonder if there is now a vacancy on that commission? It appears that Bonta can stay on the EDC because it’s only Chartered Boards (boards that in the city charter) that have restrictions, and the EDC is not one of them. And even if it was, the restrictions only apply to bodies that are under the Federal, State, or County jurisdiction, which the hospital district is not.

  1. I do not know Rob Bonta, however I hope he will step off of the E.D.C at this point. My reason is a very simple one. We have many people in this city that want to volunteer their time and are highly qualified to sit on various boards and commissions. Again nothing against him just that I hope he will allow someone else to volunteer for his seat on the E.D.C. We need all the volunteers that we can get. Good luck to Mr. Bonta John P.
