Train in Vain

Don’t you hate it when an issue comes up, people get concerned, but the resolution is never clearly announced?

On December 6th, the Oakland City Council voted to rescind the permit for Union Pacific Railroad to cross Park Street. I had checked the Oakland Council website in mid-December, but the minutes from the meeting weren’t up yet and I kinda dropped the ball. But the minutes are there now and the vote was unanimous (with one abstaining).

What this does to the ConAgra plant, UPRR’s access to it and the proposed Caltrans road widening project that preceded all of this is still unclear.
