What!? Another meeting?

Because there haven’t been enough large issue planning meetings this week, the Alameda Point Advisory Task Force will hold a meetnig tomorrow (Wednesday night 8/27) in City Hall to present and discuss SunCal’s proposals for Alameda Point.

The meeting, which starts at 6:30 and will be televised live on Channel 15, will be an opportunity for Alamedans to ask questions and give comments regarding the proposals Suncal unveiled at their August 7th meeting. Questions I hope to hear answered include:

  1. Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) was highlighted on the 7th, as this is an unproven technology, what other transportation solutions is SunCal looking at as a major transortation solution in Plan B.
  2. Plan A and Plan B differ in the amount of housing (about 50% more houses in Plan B as proposed on the 7th). Besides a transportation solution, which would be required in order to mitigate the impacts of this solution, what other benefits are proposed? The solar farm is the only one I remember. How does the open space change? Is there more open space?
  3. How do the plans accommodate historical preservation?
  4. What happened to the wetlands restoration mentioned in the first meeting?

It’s not an exhaustive list, I’m sure there are other key questions. If you have some, now’s the time to ask, they are looking to have a preliminary plan drawn up in about a month if my memory serves me correctly.
