Good time to clean out your garage

Getting rid of electronic junk is difficult. You can’t just throw it away because many of the components are poisonous. That goes for old computers, CD players, stereos, etc.

So the city is sponsoring a free Electronic waste drop off on Saturday.

The City of Alameda will host an electronic waste (E-waste) drop-off event for the collection of unwanted E-waste on Saturday, September 27, 2008, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will be held near 51 West Trident at Alameda Point, close to the east entrance at Ralph Appezzato Memorial Parkway and Main Street.

Of course, reusing is always a better solution. If the pieces are still working, give Alameda Freecycle a spin, you’ll be surprised what someone else wants! With nearly 4,000 members in Alameda, it’s an excellent resource for all sorts of things.
