Election Day! phew!
Happy Election Day all.
As of Saturday (11/1), 26% of Alameda Voters has cast ballots for today’s election! That’s 54% of the total vote in June for Measure H. The overall early vote is going to be huge, and that means that the initial election postings (of absentee ballots) will be pretty meaningful, unless the race is close.
Lots of goodies below the fold: historical Election info, the results of the SD&R Poll and election recommendations.

A lowlight from 1991? Don Roberts comes in fifth with less than 9% of the vote (with just over 1900 votes) after raising the second most donations in the race. Perhaps it was his answer to the Alameda Journal’s question: “should Alameda be talking to the US Navy about the Naval Air Station and base closures?” Roberts, ever the predicter of events, answered that there was no way the Navy would close Alameda NAS and so there was no need to talk to the Navy. The closing of the Alameda NAS was announced less than two years later. Well at least he’s maintained consistency with his accuracy! It’s nice to know some things never change.
Want to look up your own fun facts, it’s all here? (OK, mostly, the AUSD info’s a little lacking and Measure H isn’t updated yet).
