In a surprise move, the Alameda City Council votes to ban bikes, skateboards and possibly even scooters from all city parks.
We’ve already banned many kids sports played on residential streets and biking in our parks. Now the council is being asked to ok changes to the Municipal Code that could lead to cutting off cyclists from the city’s own bike parking.
The council will consider extending the timeline for developing Alameda Landing in the hopes of getting the land for the Stargell Ave. project from the College of Alameda.
