The Carnegie Restoration and Preservation Project Public Workshop

The grand Carnegie Building, once a crown jewel in Alameda’s downtown, remains vacant and has been closed to the public for nearly ten years. With each year that the Carnegie remains closed, the threat of the historic building’s deterioration grows. The Carnegie Restoration and Preservation Project will maintain the building’s interior and exterior historic architectural integrity by restoring windows, doors, and other elements to their original design.
